Styles and Belt Ranks
A style is a program you teach, such as Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Kids Taekwondo. Each style has its own belt ranks in order, with the requirements to reach the next one.
Add a style
- Go to Studio Setup → Ranks & Rosters → Styles and click Add Style.
- Name it and save.
- If Market Muscles gave you a share code, click Import and paste it to copy a whole style with its ranks.
Each style shows how many ranks it has. Its ⋯ menu has Edit Style, Duplicate, Share (to give another location a code) and Delete Style.
Add belt ranks
- Click the style to open it, then click Add Rank.
- Enter the Name, for example "White Belt - 1 Stripe".
- Design the belt:
- Belt Type: Solid Color or Half and Half
- Belt Color
- Stripe Type: No Stripe, Single Stripe or Double Stripe
- Rank Bar: the sleeve near the tip where degree stripes go (like the black bar on a BJJ belt)
- Degree Stripes: add stripes one at a time, each with its own color
- Set the promotion requirements:
- Days Required: time at this rank
- Classes Required: classes needed
- Classes That Count Toward This Rank: pick classes, or leave empty to count all
- Click Create. The preview at the top shows how the belt will look.
Put ranks in order
Drag ranks by their handles. The order is the progression path. Each rank shows its requirements and how many students currently hold it.
Tips
- Use the exact rank names your students know. Imports and migrations match ranks by name.
- Students' progress toward the next rank is tracked automatically from these requirements.
