How to Transfer A Twilio number to our system.

If you'd like to move your phone number into a different Twilio account, the process is straightforward.

Before You Start

To transfer a number, you'll need:

  • The Account SID of the account the number is moving to
  • Access to the account the number is currently in

Step 1: Locate Your Number

  1. Log into your Twilio account
  2. Navigate to Phone Numbers → Manage → Active Numbers
  3. Click on the phone number you'd like to transfer

Step 2: Initiate the Transfer

Twilio requires number transfers to be completed through their support team.

You'll need to submit a request to Twilio Support including:

  • The phone number(s) you want to transfer
  • The Account SID of the receiving account
  • Confirmation that you authorize the transfer

Step 3: Twilio Confirms & Processes

  • Twilio may reach out to verify the request
  • Once confirmed, they will move the number to the new account
  • This typically takes 1–2 business days

Important Notes

  • You retain full ownership of your number throughout the process
  • Any existing messaging or call configurations may need to be reconnected after transfer
  • There is no downtime in most cases, but we recommend confirming setup once complete
