How to Transfer A Twilio number to our system.
If you'd like to move your phone number into a different Twilio account, the process is straightforward.
Before You Start
To transfer a number, you'll need:
- The Account SID of the account the number is moving to
- Access to the account the number is currently in
Step 1: Locate Your Number
- Log into your Twilio account
- Navigate to Phone Numbers → Manage → Active Numbers
- Click on the phone number you'd like to transfer
Step 2: Initiate the Transfer
Twilio requires number transfers to be completed through their support team.
You'll need to submit a request to Twilio Support including:
- The phone number(s) you want to transfer
- The Account SID of the receiving account
- Confirmation that you authorize the transfer

Step 3: Twilio Confirms & Processes
- Twilio may reach out to verify the request
- Once confirmed, they will move the number to the new account
- This typically takes 1–2 business days
Important Notes
- You retain full ownership of your number throughout the process
- Any existing messaging or call configurations may need to be reconnected after transfer
- There is no downtime in most cases, but we recommend confirming setup once complete
