Social Proof

Social Proof displays real-time activity notifications on your website — showing visitors that real people are signing up, enrolling, and engaging with your studio. This builds trust and helps drive conversions. This article walks you through setting up and customizing the Social Proof widget.

The Key Steps

1. Navigate to Social Proof

Click Marketing in the left-hand navigation menu, then select Social Proof. You will see the configuration page with a live preview of the notification widget.

2. Enable the Widget

At the top of the page, you will find the Widget Status toggle. Turn this on to activate social proof notifications on your website.

When enabled, visitors to your site will see small notification pop-ups showing recent studio activity (e.g., "Sarah from Austin, TX just signed up for a trial!").

3. Select Activity Types

Choose which types of activity to display by checking or unchecking the following options:

  • Trial Sign-ups — show when someone starts a trial
  • Membership Enrollments — show when someone becomes a member
  • Form Submissions — show when someone submits a form on your site
  • Opt-ins / Purchases — show when someone opts in or makes a purchase

Select the activity types that are most relevant to your conversion goals. For most studios, Trial Sign-ups and Membership Enrollments are the highest-impact options.

4. Configure Display Settings

Display Mode

  • Choose Recent Activity to show the most recent real events from your studio

Position

  • Select where the notification appears on your website: Bottom Left or Bottom Right

Timing

  • Display Duration — how long each notification stays visible (default: 5 seconds)
  • Delay Between — the pause between consecutive notifications (default: 3 seconds)

Adjust these settings to balance visibility without being intrusive to your website visitors.

5. Customize Appearance and Privacy

Accent Color

  • Use the color picker to match the notification widget to your studio's branding

Privacy Settings

  • Show First Name — toggle on to display the contact's first name in the notification
  • Show City & State — toggle on to show the contact's location

With privacy settings off, the notification will show the activity without identifying details.

6. Preview Your Widget

The Live Preview section at the bottom of the configuration page shows exactly how your notifications will look to website visitors. Review the preview after making changes to ensure the design and messaging match your expectations.

Each notification includes a small "verified by Market Muscles" badge for credibility.

7. Add the Widget to Your Website

In the Embed Snippet section, you will find a JavaScript code snippet. To install the widget:

  • Click the Copy button to copy the snippet to your clipboard
  • Open your website's HTML editor
  • Paste the snippet just before the closing body tag
  • Save and publish your website changes

The widget will begin displaying notifications automatically once installed and enabled.

Note: If your website is built and hosted through Market Muscles, the Social Proof widget may integrate directly without needing to manually add code — check with the Support Team for guidance.

8. Save Your Settings

Click Save Settings to apply all your configuration changes. The widget will update on your website immediately.

Best Practices

  • Start with Trial Sign-ups and Membership Enrollments — these are the most persuasive social proof signals for prospective students
  • Keep the display duration between 4–6 seconds — long enough to read, short enough not to annoy
  • Enable City & State to make notifications feel local and relatable to visitors in your area
  • Match your accent color to your brand for a seamless look on your website
