Step 3 - Class Management
Class Management
The Class Management section is where you configure the core of your program offerings — the classes your students attend. Whether you're managing martial arts, dance, fitness, or other structured sessions, this is your control center for organizing everything from schedule to instructors.
Categories
Categories are the first step in organizing your classes within the Market Muscles CRM. They allow you to group your classes in a way that makes sense for your studio, whether you're running martial arts, dance, fitness, or a combination of programs.
What Are Categories?
Think of Categories as organizational folders for your classes. They don’t affect scheduling or attendance — they're purely for structure and ease of management.
How You Might Use Categories
How you categorize your classes is completely up to you, and it should reflect how your business thinks about its offerings. Here are two common ways our users group their classes:
- By Age Group
- Example:
- Tiny Tots (Ages 3–5)
- Youth (Ages 6–12)
- Teens & Adults
- Example:
- By Program Type
- Example:
- Little Ninjas Program
- Beginner Karate
- Black Belt Club
- Demo Team
- Competitive Team
- Example:
Tip: Using clear, consistent categories makes class management easier and cleaner — especially when you grow and start offering more classes.

- Click the “New Category” button at the top right of the page.
- In the slide-out window:
- Enter a Category Name (e.g., “Beginner Program,” “Teens,” or “Acro Dance”)
- Choose a Color for the category
- Click Save — your category is now ready to use when creating or editing classes.
Tip: This color will be used when displaying classes in the student schedule, helping make everything more visually organized and easier to understand.
You can create as many categories as needed and edit them at any time as your programs grow and evolve.
Spaces
The Spaces section allows you to define and manage your physical training areas within your studio or school. Whether you operate with one room or multiple training floors, setting up your Spaces helps keep your class scheduling organized and conflict-free.
What Are Spaces?
Spaces represent the physical locations or rooms where your classes take place. This could be a:
- Main Training Area
- Side Room
Each class you create can be assigned to a specific Space, making it easier to manage overlapping classes and coordinate room usage.
Do I Need a “Space” If I Only Have One Area?
Yes — even if you have only one training floor, we still recommend creating at least one Space.
- Suggested name: “Main Training Area”
- This ensures your class setup is complete and sets you up for smoother scheduling and reporting in the future.

Tip: If you ever expand or rearrange your layout, you can always add or rename Spaces later.
Classes
Classes are the foundation of your scheduling and attendance system inside Market Muscles CRM. Creating and configuring classes allows you to organize your programs, track student participation, and generate useful reports on student progress and instructor activity.
Why Set Up Classes?
While you can use classes for general scheduling, their primary purpose is to track student attendance — helping you monitor engagement, retention, and participation trends.
Tip: Accurate class setup = accurate attendance data = better decisions for your business.
