How to Create Categories
You can provide online curriculum for your members through the student portal. Curriculum can include lessons or workouts students can access on their own time.
To start building out your online curriculum, you will first want to create Categories to sort your content. Posts that are not labeled with a category will not appear on your student portal.
Click on the Active Vault icon and then select Categories under the Curriculum section to get started.
The Categories page will show all of your current categories.
To create a new category, click on the Add New Category button.
When creating a new category, you will first need to give it a Name. The name you provide will generate the Slug, so you do not need to enter anything in the slug field.
If you want to create a hierarchy of categories, you can select a Parent Category for your new category.
You can leave the Description field blank. With the current Active Vault interface, the Category Description will not show in the portal.
Once you are done setting up your category, click on the Add New Category button.
On the Curriculum page of your student portal, members will see a list of the categories. They can click on the name of one of the categories to see all of the posts in that category.
NOTE: The category will not show up as an option in the curriculum section until a post has been added for that category.
